ARRIVAL IN COLOMBO

After breakfast proceed to Giritale - A small town with picturesque landscapes and a beautiful lake. En route explore the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage established to protect wild elephants found wandering in the surrounding forests. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at Giritale.
GIRITALE - POLONNARUWA - GIRITALE
After breakfast, embark on a road trip to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy your visit to the magnificent structures of the bygone era - Gal Vihara or the rock temple of Buddha, the Council Chamber, Tivanka Pilimage and Rankot Vihara stupa. Later return for comfortable overnight stay at your hotel in the evening.
GIRITALE - SIGIRIYA - DAMBULLA - NUWARA ELIYA (205 KMS/APPROX. 4 HOURS)
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive towards Sigiriya - one of the oldest cities in Sri Lanka declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Upon arrival, explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which encompasses a series of flights and galleries. This lofty rock fortress, has several inscriptions of poems, alternatively called Sigiri graffiti. After an insightful tour of Sigiriya, depart for Dambulla and explore its majestic Golden Temple - an archaeological site that holds great historical significance. This cave temple boasts of Buddhist mural paintings and 157 statues, which epitomize the rich heritage of the region. Later, drive to Nuwara Eliya for overnight stay.
NUWARA ELIYA - BENTOTA (209 KMS/APPROX. 4 HOURS)
Nuwara Eliya is the country's popular hill resort and Tea estate. After breakfast, enjoy a visit to the Tea Estate & Tea Factory situated at around 2000m above sea level and surrounded by lush tea plantations, and Horton Plains National Park. Later, proceed to Bentota for overnight stay at your hotel.
Bentota is the city of the Golden Beaches. You will be able to relax and feel the spirit of the sea and the warmth of the soft sand. After breakfast, spend the day swimming in the cool waters and relaxing on the beach. Bentota provides the perfect turf for a heavenly beach vacation. Post breakfast set out to explore Galle (56 Kms/45 minutes' drive approx). Visit the Dutch Galle Fort and enjoy a boat ride for whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa. Visit the Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda and choose to go on a boat ride on the Madu River, which is famous for its biodiversity. You can also visit the blowhole in Induruwa.
